Key Challenges
Saving Time and Money Through Intelligent Design Changes
Delaney Civil identified road pavement design changes. These included reducing full-depth road pavement in areas to road mill, and the use of asphalt of road service in lieu of full road pavement construction. This offered substantial cost and time savings to the client, through presenting them with suitable solutions that would allow the project to progress.
Safe Removal of Contaminated Material
One challenge with this project was the uncovering of asbestos material on site within the ground in areas of excavation sites. Delaney Civil contained some of this via encapsulation and disposed of the remaining material off site at a licensed waste facility.
Accommodating Stakeholder Changes to Program
Sydney Water cutover dates were changed by Sydney Water. Delaney Civil completed two additional cutovers to enable the shopping centre to open and implemented additional road staging for the client. The land on this project was also owned by Western Sydney Parklands Trust, and Delaney Civil was able to successfully coordinate with all stakeholders on this project.
